How to switch processors without wrecking a Saturday

The actual sequence: statement, underwriting, hardware, go-live, then cancel the old account.

Do not cancel first

Keep the old MID alive until the new one has processed a live sale. Early cancellation is how people spend a weekend on cash-only.

What we need from you

A recent merchant statement (or volume + average ticket + current rate), legal name, EIN, owner ID, voided check or bank letter, and a short description of the business. High-risk files also need processing history and, often, a website or SKU list.

Timeline

Most standard files: 24–48 hours to approval, hardware ships or programs remotely, live the same week. High-risk varies by bank — we tell you the queue, not a fantasy.

Hardware cutover

PayAnywhere devices arrive programmed. We walk the first sale. Then you cancel the old processor in writing and return their leased brick if they actually own it.

What about the contract you already signed

Read the term and the ETF. If you are in a hostage equipment lease, say so on the rate review. We will tell you if switching still nets out.
